 An Isle of Wight Connection
 We have been contacted by the good folks at the Minster in Newport, Isle of Wight (in Britain). It seems they are planning a special celebration of their sending a host of settlers our way back in the 17th century. They have also graciously asked us to be the "opening act" of their celebration by sending a film by U-Tube to them with some Scripture and some of the connections between us. Then they will be sending to us, on July 4, a copy of their celebration to share! It is wonderful to be making this connection with our roots!

Olden Days Festival 26 June 2010 - Thanks so much to all who participated in Olden Days.  We hope to make his a yearly event.  The book sale, print sale, bakery sale, fish fry and youth events were a great success.  Guests expressed their appreciation for our doors being open and what we had to offer.  Several commented how wonderful it was to have a cool, quiet place where they could just sit and relax. The church was beautiful and full of music.  The Prayer Shawl display was special.  Our church bell was exercised.  Our Youth had a great time. Click here for pictures of some of our events.

Annual Outdoor Service - This year our outdoor service was held on June 13th. We celebrated the graduates from High School and EFM.  A potluck picnic followed the service. A good time was had by all.

Church gather for an instructional Seder Meal on Friday, March 19, from 6:30 to 8:30 pm.   The Seder is the liturgical meal that commemorates the mighty acts of God at the freeing of the Hebrews from slavery in Egypt.   The Stewardship Committee in conjunction with the EfM Class and the Monday Night Bible Study will be offered this special event. Vestry Retreat 2010 - Christ Church Vestry met for retreat in late February after being snowed out earlier this year. The time was renewing, and enriching with some great help from the Diocese and a consultant, the Rev. Jeunee Cunningham. Look for some new ministry and energy coming your way!

Then they will be sending to us, on July 4, a copy of their celebration to share! It is wonderful to be making this connection with our roots! We will publish the U-Tube information once we have it. And those of us available on July 4 during the education hour, we will gather in our new TV viewing library (downstairs in the offices) to see our friends in the other Isle of Wight!
