CEC’s “Lost Boys of Sudan” Ministry:

If you wish to donate to this Ministry, please, note “Lost Boys” on your check’s “for” line.  Donations are welcome at any time and especially before trimester funds are sent.

You can read about our current sponsored South Sudanese student, Manyang Jambo Puondak, on the bulletin board in the back hallway.  You can also go to www.lostboysus.org for information about Outreach Africa and the African school programs.  We have been assisting Manyang and his 5 cousins since 2006 when their Newport News Lost Boy brother and cousin, Samuel, arranged for them to travel to Uganda to escape the dangerous Kakuma Refugee Camp.  They found safety and an education through the inexpensive boarding school program.

On July 10, 2022 we will be sending 3rd trimester funds to Outreach Africa for Manyang Jambo Puondak, who is working toward his “Clinical Medicine and Community Health Degree” at Clarke International University in Kampala, Uganda.  Manyang has a Tuition Sponsor through Outreach Africa in Norfolk.  CEC’s sponsorship provides for internet (especially for on-line classes), school fees, books, labs, food, medical, incidentals.  The internet fees ($400 x3) are funded by a portion of donations received at Open Mic Night.  The committed balance ($350 x3) is funded by CEC member donations.  Occasionally there have been other urgent needs.  Manyang is on track to graduate in June of 2023.

Thank you so much to all who support this ministry with prayer and funds.    ~ Betsy Egan

Kroger Quarterly Rewards for March 1 – May 31 are $21.41.  Five households participated in the Rewards program.  Thank you for helping CEC through this program.

Have a great weekend!
