Message from Annamaria Pencola:

The Vestry is seeking  a new person OR 2 or 3 people to share the position of registrar.  Someone is needed to take minutes of the meetings and type them up.

Please let a Vestry member know if you can help out.  It is for about an hour and a half one time per month.  Thank you.

Message from Leigh Leaman:

SMITHFIELD COMMUNITY BLOOD DRIVE

Thursday May 12, 2022

The Smithfield Blood is quickly approaching and Christ Episcopal needs your help to serve the donors who will be helping ensure our blood supply!

The Drive is from 12-6 in the Fellowship Hall of TUMC. Four volunteers are needed from 11:30 to approx 6:30. The time has been split into two 3.5 shifts.

I have a signup sheet online where you can add your name & email to keep it simple.  If you are able to help with either of the 3.5-hr slots, please indicate which along with your email.

We are also able to provide a little better selection of food this time around as restrictions ease! If you cannot help that day onsite but are able to make some cookies, brownies, cupcakes, or any other small snack, please note in the "CANTEEN" list.

THANK YOU!!!!

A note came to the church from Lisa and Tom Hite, who visited Smithfield the weekend of March 18th and stayed at the Smithfield Station Hotel.  They came to Open Mic Nite and loved it!  They said the musicians were very good, and it was so welcoming to offer this for free.  They loved the snacks, too!  I have sent them a note thanking them for letting us know they were here, and I have put their note on the table outside the kitchen door.

When you come to church, please check the coat hooks in the Narthex “foyer” (beside the stairs to the classrooms) and see if you have a coat hanging there.  There is a white Eddie Bauer jacket, a large, long blue and black checked (large checks) coat with hood, and a lighter weight tan-ish jacket with hood.  They need a home, and they may end up at DAV if the owners don’t claim them!!

Have a GREAT weekend!  It’s going to be some really nice, cooler weather!

Beth
