Blood Drive Message from Leigh Leaman:
SMITHFIELD COMMUNITY BLOOD DRIVE
Thursday May 12, 2022
The Smithfield Blood is quickly approaching and Christ Episcopal needs your help to serve the donors who will be helping ensure our blood supply!
The Drive is from 12-6 in the Fellowship Hall of TUMC. Four volunteers are needed from 11:30 to approx 6:30. The time has been split into two 3.5 shifts.
I have a signup sheet online where you can add your name & email to keep it simple. If you are able to help with either of the 3.5-hr slots, please indicate which along with your email.
We are also able to provide a little better selection of food this time around as restrictions ease! If you cannot help that day onsite but are able to make some cookies, brownies, cupcakes, or any other small snack, please note in the "CANTEEN" list. THANK YOU!!!!
Search Committee Update from Max Lindner:
In anticipation of receiving new Rector candidates, the Search Committee is working on specifics of how to best conduct the interviewing process. Please continue to pray!
New CEC Mission Statement (hopefully this will be on the bulletin next Sunday 15th!)
Christ Episcopal Church (c.1832), in Smithfield, VA is a welcoming, inclusive community that seeks to celebrate our unity with God and serve Christ by following His example through our worship, outreach, and hospitality within our community and beyond.
Don’t forget the White Horse Fellowship dinner at Tokyo Thai next Tuesday 10th at 6:30 PM! Call Martha Underwood if you want to attend.
AND – Congratulations to Stephen Faleski for winning TEN awards for journalistic excellence! The Smithfield Times had an article this week about the winners and I have posted it on the bulletin board in the Parish Hall.
Have a GREAT weekend and a wonderful Mother’s Day!
Beth
